Carter's inc. Canada, a growing national retailer of children's apparel, requires a seasonal contract Custodian, for our Distribution Centre located in Cambridge, Ontario. Contract runs through to December 31, 2026.

This role reports into the Supervisor, Health & Safety and Maintenance and is based in our Canada DC in our on-site work environment.

Wage: $19.50/hr

SHIFT HOURS: 2:00pm - 10:00pm, Monday - Friday

60%: DC Operation and Execution

Maintain daily overall cleanliness of entire warehouse facility including: 

• Empty office wastebaskets and blue box containers 

• Dust all officefurniture 

• Clean and sanitize drinking fountains inwarehouse 

• Spot cleandesk tops 

• Clean interior glass in partitions and doors 

• Dust mop resilient hard floods 

• Damp mop resilient hard floors 

• Vacuum carpet 

• Clean and sanitize all fixtures, glass, and mirrors inwashrooms 

• Empty and sanitize all washroom and eating areas containers anddisposals 

• Refill all washroom dispensers to normallimits 

• Damp clean and sanitizetable tops, seats, and back of chairs in eating areas 

• Clean microwaves inside and out 

• Clean eyewash stations 

• Empty trash containers and disposals 

• Spotclean any glass 

Maintain weekly overall cleanliness of entire warehouse facility including: 

• Clean and sanitize officetelephones 

• Low dusting of all horizontal surfaces to hand height in washrooms, eating areas, and offices 

• Damp wipe exterior of lockers 

• Clean fridges 

• Clean RF cabinets (6) 

40 %: Essential job functions

• Perform other tasks as assigned.

• Ability to work independently (self-managed) and with other Associates in a teamenvironment 

• Ability toidentify“High Touch”area’sand clean these area’s using Carters Covid Cleaning and Disinfecting Guideline and Practices. 

• Ability to learn quickly, adapt to change and be flexible innature 

• Displaya high levelof initiative and commitment toexcellence 

• Demonstrate a positive attitude,enthusiasmandassertiveness 

• Effective verbal and written communication  

• Ability to effectively use small handtools  

Preferred skills and experience:

• Highschool diploma or equivalent preferred

• 1 year ofpreviouscleaning experience, warehouse environment preferred  

PHYSICAL AND WORK DEMANDS:

• Ability to spend up to eight hours walking, standing, climbing stairs,lifting 

• Must be available to work in a multi-channel, multi-shift distribution environment, flexible to work different shifts and extended hours based upon business needs. 

• Must be able to stand and work forlong periodsincluding daily overtime, holidays and overtime asrequired.   

• Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion isrequired, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.  

• Must be able to repetitively lift cases weighing up to fifty pounds. 

• Must be able to work in varying temperatures.
