Honeywell Advanced Manufacturing Engineer II in Cambridge, Ontario
We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer with deep technical expertise in dip brazing processes to support production, equipment commissioning, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of process knowledge, equipment setup and commissioning experience, and disciplined technical documentation, and is comfortable working hands-on in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Dip Brazing Process Ownership
Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for aluminum dip brazing processes, including fluxing, furnace operation, and post-braze handling
Define, optimize, and maintain brazing parameters to ensure consistent quality, throughput, and metallurgical integrity
Troubleshoot brazing defects (e.g., voids, leaks, distortion, incomplete braze, oxidation)
Equipment Setup & Commissioning
Lead or support equipment installation, setup, commissioning, and validation of dip brazing furnaces and associated systems
Collaborate with equipment vendors, maintenance, and controls teams during startup and modifications
Specify tooling, fixturing, and auxiliary equipment to support stable brazing operations
Establish and maintain equipment parameter limits, alarm strategies, and preventive maintenance requirements
Process Documentation & Standards
Create and maintain process documentation, including:
Standard work instructions and routings
Process flow diagrams and standard operating procedures
Control plans and PFMEAs
Ensure documentation complies with AS9100, customer specifications, and internal change‑control requirements
Train production and maintenance personnel on documented processes and standards
Manufacturing Support & Continuous Improvement
Provide daily engineering support to production-related issues
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, cost, safety, and efficiency
Support new product introductions (NPI) with DFMEA/PFMEA input, process development, and pilot builds
Partner with Quality, Production, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to resolve cross-functional issues
You Must have:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials, Aerospace, or other applicable Engineering discipline
5 or more years of Manufacturing Engineering experience in an aerospace or similarly regulated manufacturing environment
2 or more years of demonstrated hands‑on expertise with dip brazing processes (aluminum preferred)
Must be eligible for CGP, CSP, and Secret Clearance
We Value:
Familiarity with AS9100, NADCAP, and customer‑specific aerospace requirements
Experience with equipment commissioning, process validation, and change management
Strong understanding of metallurgy and braze joint integrity
Experience supporting capital equipment projects in regulated manufacturing environments
Background in Lean Manufacturing and structured root‑cause problem solving
Application of advanced engineering techniques to optimize manufacturing processes
The annual base salary for this position is $70,100 to $100,000 in Cambridge, Ontario. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline.
