Job Title: MIG Welder

Job Description

This role focuses on wire-feed MIG welding for shorter-run projects in the farming industry. You will primarily weld mild steel, with some work on galvanized steel and occasional stainless steel, across material thicknesses ranging from 12 gauge to 1/2 inch. In addition to welding, you will regularly build and assemble products, often taking projects from start to finish.

Responsibilities

  • Perform wire-feed MIG welding on a variety of farming industry products using primarily mild steel, with some galvanized steel and occasional stainless steel.

  • Work with materials ranging from 12 gauge to 1/2 inch thick, ensuring strong, consistent, and clean welds.

  • Independently manage assigned projects from start to finish, including both welding and assembly tasks.

  • Assemble welded components into finished products according to provided instructions and job requirements.

  • Inspect welds and assemblies for quality, accuracy, and structural integrity, making adjustments as needed.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in a production weld shop environment.

  • Follow all shop procedures, safety guidelines, and production schedules to meet deadlines.

  • Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality to support consistent production flow.

  • Work mandatory overtime as required to meet production demands.

Essential Skills

  • At least 1 year of MIG welding experience in a manufacturing environment OR completion of a 2-year technical degree related to welding or a closely aligned field.

  • Proficiency with wire-feed MIG welding processes.

  • Ability to weld mild steel, with exposure to galvanized and stainless steel.

  • Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to assemble own projects from welded components.

  • Strong commitment to reliable attendance and punctuality.

  • Willingness and ability to work mandatory overtime as required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working in a production weld shop environment.

  • Comfort working on shorter-run, custom or semi-custom projects.

  • Attention to detail and quality in both welding and assembly work.

  • Ability to manage projects from initial welds through final assembly without requiring blueprint reading or layout skills.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.50 - $21.50/hr.
