DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS), will create and execute a comprehensive, strategic development plan designed to raise awareness, strengthen relationships, and garner financial support for EECS’s initiatives and academic programs. This position manages, builds and executes successful fundraising strategies for a mature portfolio (including Core Team) creating individualized solicitation plans leading to major and principal gifts in support of MIT's fundraising priorities, capital projects and other departmental priorities.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree preferably in an engineering or scientific field; a minimum of five years of experience in development, including experience stewarding high-capacity donors, preferably with a higher education organization; exceptional interpersonal, organizational, project management, and communication skills–both written and oral–as well as time management skills; ability to manage multiple projects with confidentiality and discretion; and a high level of computer competency required, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. PREFERRED: MBA/MS, in a technical, engineering, or scientific field; a proven record of successful cultivation and solicitation of seven-figure gifts; management experience; and experience with research university culture and administration.
Required to work evening and occasional weekend hours with advance notice.
