Aerotek Soldering Technician in Camas, Washington

Job Title: Soldering Technician

Job Description

Join our prototype team to collaborate with electrical engineers in building intricate circuit board layouts, including wiring and cabling. Your role will involve identifying components through drawings and schematics, and hand soldering both surface mount and thru-hole components, sometimes exceeding 500 individual components.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the prototype team and electrical engineers to build complex circuit board layouts.

  • Identify components using drawings and schematics.

  • Hand solder (surface mount and thru-hole) components to the board.

  • Communicate with the testing team about any anticipated issues during the assembly process.

  • Run functionality testing and troubleshoot to identify root causes.

  • Rework areas as needed and maintain an organized workstation and inventory of build materials.

Essential Skills

  • Expertise in soldering and building complex circuit boards.

  • Proficient in wiring/cabling for power converting systems.

  • Experience with surface mount and thru-hole soldering.

  • Ability to read blueprints, electrical schematics, and drawings.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with wire crimping and wire harnessing.

  • Familiarity with printed circuit boards and prototype builds.

  • IPC certification is a plus.

  • Experience with pneumatic crimpers is a plus.

  • Compliance with ITAR regulations.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Camas, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.
