Hours: 52 hours/week, Mon.-Thurs. 10 hours/day, Fri. 12 hours/day, 7:30 A.M. - 6:00 P.M.

Workers will perform duties related to basic concrete construction and structural work on livestock and poultry farm buildings. Duties include measuring and completing layout of livestock or poultry buildings; mixing, pouring, and spreading concrete using a portable cement mixer; and tending pumps, compressors, or generators that provide power for tools and equipment. Workers will position, assemble, and dismantle concrete forms using hand and power tools such as saws, hammers, nails, and bolts. Smooth and finish freshly poured concrete using floats, trowels, screeds, or powered finishing tools.
Additional duties include operating jackhammers or drills to break up concrete or pavement; positioning, joining, aligning, and sealing structural components such as concrete wall sections or pipes; tying rebar, bending and placing reinforcement materials, and positioning aluminum wall forms prior to pouring concrete. Workers will load, unload, and distribute building materials and tools to appropriate locations according to project plans and specifications. Workers will measure, mark, and record distances to lay out work areas.
Workers may dig ditches or trenches, backfill, compact, and level earth to grade specifications. Duties may also include providing hand signals to facilitate alignment and adjustment of materials, including pumped concrete. Workers may erect or dismantle scaffolding, shoring, braces, or other supports as needed. Grind, scrape, clean, or coat concrete surfaces using abrasive tools and hoses, and apply protective compounds to prevent water or air entry when required.
Workers may operate skid-steer equipment as needed to support related farm construction activities. All work will be performed under supervision, following instructions for simple concrete construction labor on a farm. Work at heights, if any, will be limited to 12 feet or below. No certifications or educational qualifications are required. Safety training will be provided.
Minimum Education Required
No High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum Experience Required
One month of aluminum wall-form setting experience required.
Must be able to lift and carry 75 pounds for 75 yards.
Worker must be able to perform work that requires exposure to extreme temperatures, extensive pushing or pulling, sitting or walking, frequent stooping or bending over, and repetitive movements.

Additional Compensation
Applicants may be offered higher than the advertised wage rate due to experience and/or merit.
As required for all workers in Minnesota, hours worked in excess of 48 hours in a work week will be paid at the rate of 1.5 times the regular rate of pay.

EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $16.28 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts. Required work-related tools and supplies provided free of charge by employer.
Effective Jan 1, 2024, per MN State Statute, an employee will earn one hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked, up to at least 48 hours of accrued Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) per year, provided the employee works a minimum of 80 hours in a calendar year.
