What You Will Do:

  • Lead a team of SCM Indigenous Engagement (SCM IE) Advisors providing guidance and support to meet SCM IE objectives.

  • Responsible for corporate Indigenous engagement strategies across North America to meet business and reconciliation objectives, including Indigenous Spend targets under the Indigenous Reconciliation Action Plan (IRAP).

  • Guide the development and implementation of Enbridge’s Indigenous economic engagement to increase Indigenous involvement in Enbridge’s supply chain across initiatives and daily activities.

  • Lead the internal coordination with Operations and Project teams to develop and implement strategies that enhance Indigenous involvement in their economic activities.

  • Head the creation of success criteria and measures connected to Indigenous engagement. Work alongside business units to develop and put into action plans and strategies that meet the success criteria and business goals.

  • Provide experienced advice and recommendations to; drive improvements into SCM IE processes, resolve conflicts, and set strategic direction related to Indigenous economic inclusion.

  • Build, develop and lead the relationships with Indigenous businesses and community representatives with responsibility for economic engagement.

  • Provide direction and guidance to contractors to ensure Enbridge’ Indigenous engagement objectives are successfully met.

Who You Are:

  • Related university degree, preferably in supply chain management or business and a minimum of seven or more years of related work experience in Supply Chain or a business development related function and/or field. A combination of education and experience may be considered.

  • Previous experience working with Indigenous communities or businesses on business or economic development initiatives.

  • High level of cultural awareness / exposure to enable development of strong working relationships with a culturally diverse population.

  • Ability to effectively facilitate, negotiate, positively influence, and/or lead meeting with culturally diverse Indigenous communities.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be adept at communicating complex, challenging concepts in a way that other interested parties are able to understand and apply. Specifically:

  • Ability to lead delicate discussions and resolve challenging issues as they arise.

  • Strong track record of negotiating agreements with Indigenous community leaders for the benefit of all parties involved.

  • Thorough understanding of SCM processes.

  • Demonstrated leadership, supervisory training and coaching/mentoring skills for a small to medium sized team.

  • Demonstrated ability to be innovative, strategic, initiate and manage change, work collaboratively, negotiate, influence, facilitate, solve problems, make decisions, work independently, prioritize competing demands, and deliver results.

  • You will be required to undergo various background screenings that include but is not limited to 5-year driving record, criminal check and a company sponsored drug testing.

Preferred

  • Preference may be given to a candidate who identifies as Indigenous (First Nations, Metis, Inuit).

  • Completion of a SCM related professional certification, such as PMAC or ISM.

  • Conflict resolution experience.

Working Conditions

  • Office environment requires extensive work on computer, networking with stakeholders.

  • Travel up to 25%; to Indigenous communities (in the position’s assigned geography), other Enbridge offices, operation regions, and/or supplier locations (with North America), with some locations requiring personal protective equipment (PPE); valid passport is required.

  • Flexibility required to work extended working hours where required to manage work priorities and address stakeholder needs.
