Hotel Arts Group Food and Beverage Supervisor (Seasonal) in Calgary, Alberta
The Food and Beverage (Outlets) Supervisor is responsible for overseeing floor operations during assigned shifts, ensuring service standards are met and guest experience aligns with outlet expectations.
This role acts as the on-shift leader in the absence of management, supporting the execution of service, maintaining team accountability, and ensuring smooth communication between front-of-house, kitchen, and leadership teams. The Supervisor works alongside the team, providing hands-on support and resolving issues as they arise.
The Food and Beverage (Outlets) Supervisor reports directly to the Restaurant Manager and Director of Food & Beverage, or their designate.
Please note that this is a seasonal position starting May 4th, 2026 until end of September.
This position requires a mixture of daytime and evening availability as we open our celebrated Poolside Patio.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Floor Operations
Lead the floor during assigned shifts, ensuring smooth and efficient service
Assign sections and manage floor plans based on staffing and business levels
Ensure all opening, during-service, and closing procedures are completed properly
Maintain awareness of service flow, guest needs, and team performance
Step into service roles as required to support the team
Service & Guest Experience
Ensure all staff meet baseline service expectations and follow established SOPs
Communicate daily features, specials, and key updates to staff and hosts
Ensure guests are informed of key offerings during seating and service
Respond to and resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally
Maintain a strong presence on the floor to support service quality
Team Supervision & Accountability
Monitor staff performance and provide real-time direction on the floor
Address and document performance or behavioural concerns and escalate as required
Ensure all staff adhere to company policies and procedures
Support a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment
Pre-Shift & Communication
Lead pre-shift meetings to communicate service priorities, features, and updates
Ensure all team members are aware of menu availability, 86’d items, and daily changes
Communicate effectively between kitchen, FOH, and management teams
Complete clear and accurate pass-on notes for leadership
Systems & Administrative
Troubleshoot POS (Micros/Symphony) issues and support staff with system challenges
Adjust bills and resolve discrepancies when required
Ensure all transactions are entered accurately
Maintain and complete side duties lists for each shift
Collect and distribute tip-out accurately according to established guidelines
Health, Safety & Maintenance
Ensure a safe working environment for all staff during shifts
Report and document all incidents, injuries, or safety concerns
Ensure all equipment is functioning and ready for service
Communicate maintenance or repair needs to management
Maintain cleanliness and organization across all outlet spaces
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Valid ProServe Certificate
3+ years of previous food service, bartending or restaurant experience required
Previous supervisory experience an asset
Must have a positive attitude
Must possess excellent communication and customer service skills
Must be able to multi-task and handle competing priorities and a fast paced environment
Requires standing/walking throughout shift
Lifting trays of up to 20 lbs., reaching and bending
