Position Overview
As a Finance Manager, you will support the administration of financial aspects of an assigned project, including troubleshooting project financial processes and reporting, accounting data entry, performing financial projections, providing support to human resources as well as overseeing payroll, procurement, taxes, contract administration, and company or outside equipment rent for the project.

District Overview
Kiewit Energy Canada is a major industrial contractor that specializes a wide range of engineering, procurement and construction services to the oil, gas, chemical, ethanol and related process industries. Our projects involve construction of oil sands processing facilities, including steam-assisted gravity drainage facilities, refinery expansions, gas plant expansions, co-generation facilities, major mine developments and pipe spool fabrication.
Location
This position is based in person at our Kiewit Energy Canada office in Calgary, Alberta.
Responsibilities
In-depth knowledge of and direct involvement in Kiewit project cost control systems
Analyze construction costs including production of cost reports and labor reports as required
Produce GAAP-compliant project financial reports
Help drive compliance programs including employment compliance, environmental regulations, transportation regulations and accounting policies
Maintain compliance with federal and state sales/use taxes, payroll and property taxes
Oversee contracts including documentation to support subcontracts and material contracts
Understand and administer owner progress payments and invoicing process, in line with executed contracts
Provide ongoing training, development and coaching of direct and indirect reports to support retention and engagement
Participate in the onboarding and integration of newly hired employees
Develop and maintain team cohesion amongst districts, internal joint venture and external joint venture partners
Qualifications
Degree in business administration, accounting, or equivalent degree/work experience
7+ years’ experience in financial management, preferably in the construction industry
Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative
Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done
Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals and objectives
Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail
Ability to operate a standard personal computer as well as standard office computer software including MS Office
Experience with project management software and ERP systems (e.g. SAP) would be an asset
Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity
Passion for safety, with the ability to help ensure that nobody gets hurt
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Ability to travel throughout Canada and Internationally #LI-GH
