Overview of the Role

Saputo Dairy Products Canada G.P. is seeking a proactive and detail‑oriented Coordinator, Health & Safety to support our health, safety, and environmental programs. This role is responsible for promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with legislation, and helping maintain a safe workplace for all employees.

How you will make contributions that matter:

Health & Safety Program Coordination

  • Coordinate and support the development, implementation, and ongoing improvement of the plant’s HS programs, procedures, and standards.

  • Ensure HS programs are maintained, up to date, and aligned with corporate policies and operational needs.

  • Support departments by providing guidance, tools, and information related to health and safety requirements.

Compliance & Corporate Requirements

  • Support compliance with occupational health and safety legislation and corporate HS policies.

  • Assist with adapting site practices and documentation to meet corporate and regulatory requirements.

  • Support internal and external audits, inspections, and regulatory visits.

Risk Assessment & Corrective Actions

  • Coordinate risk assessments, job hazard analyses, and workplace inspections.

  • Ensure hazards and risks are identified and documented.

  • Track corrective actions and follow up to ensure actions are completed within expected timelines.

Incident & Injury Support

  • Support incident and near-miss reporting and investigations.

  • Assist with injury reporting, documentation, and communication.

  • Support modified work and return-to-work activities in collaboration with HR and supervisors.

Training, Communication & Engagement

  • Coordinate health and safety training, orientations, and refresher activities.

  • Maintain training and certification records.

  • Support HS communications such as toolbox talks, safety alerts, and site updates.

Collaboration & Safety Culture

  • Work with all departments to support consistent application of health and safety practices.

  • Support the Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC), including meetings, inspections, and follow-up actions.

  • Promote employee engagement and awareness to support continuous improvement of the site’s safety culture.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintain HS records and documentation.

  • Prepare basic HS reports and summaries for site leadership.

Emergency Preparedness

  • Support emergency response planning and drills.

  • Assist with maintaining emergency procedures and equipment.

Other duties as assigned.

You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:

  • Diploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field, or equivalent experience.

  • 2–3 years of experience in a Health & Safety role in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

  • Working knowledge of Alberta OH&S legislation and corporate HS systems.

  • Strong communication and coordination skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments.

  • Proficiency in MS Office and ability to learn HS systems.

Salary: $55,430.00 - $69,262.50

*Salary offers will vary commensurate with experience, education, skills, and training.
