Factory Location : Cabazon, CA

Compensation: $31.95 - $$36.15

Shift differential : 6%-8% of base hourly rate paid for applicable hours worked

Schedule : Sunday - Thursday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

The Microbiologist will perform all required microbiological testing. Champion and oversee NEL AC Accreditation requirements and ensure lab remains in compliance with accreditation standards. Work closely with personnel from Technical, Production, Logistics, and other site personnel to sample and assess products for additional testing. Assist other QA personnel as required. Work with GMP/HACCP systems on a frequent basis.

Responsibilities

  • Managing all micro documentation

  • Maintain micro programs in an audit ready state

  • Trouble shoot, track and trend micro data

  • Collect all micro samples for daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual samples for inside and outside lab testing

  • Participate in all facility trainings and assist in training all new QC/Microbiologist as

  • Calibration and quality control of all microbiology laboratory equipment.

  • Test and assist in troubleshooting/investigating consumer complaints as

  • Participate in all required Microbiology Proficiency Testing

  • Maintain data for line health

  • Special projects and continuous improvement as

  • Perform self-audits of the lab and keep inventory of lab testing supplies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Sciences, or Physical Sciences with a minimum of 16 college credit hours in Microbiology and Biology.

  • Minimum of Two Years' experience in water testing and analysis preferably in a production and/or environment.

  • Prior experience in a microbiology laboratory.

  • Experienced in standard analytical methods for microbiology, troubleshooting microbiological issues and experience. with pathogens, molds and spoilage microorganisms desired

  • Prior experience performing internal quality audits and maintaining micro programs in an audit ready state.

  • Understanding of microbiological testing and operation of related lab

  • Ability to track and trend micro data and testing results.

  • Knowledge of EPA and FDA regulations

  • Computer proficiency in standard Microsoft Office Software

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and lift at least 50

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to coach other team members.
