Philips Service Developer and Validator (all genders) in Böblingen, Germany
We are seeking an experienced Healthcare Implementation Engineer who is motivated to grow into the Professional Services development and validation domain. In this role, you will leverage your experience in installing and integrating medical devices and systems in hospital enterprise environments to continuously improve our implementation services.
As part of our Interoperability Team, you will also maintain our validation lab, reflecting Philips’ complex Patient Monitoring solutions, and support First-of-a-Kind (FoK) projects to gather first-hand customer feedback on new products and services. Typical outcomes of our development and validation work include implementation and solution guides that help our regional service delivery teams improve customer solution delivery.
Your role
As a member of the Interoperability Team, you are responsible for setting up and maintaining the interoperability lab environment, planning and conducting implementations, and documenting the outcomes. When contributing to the Implementation Services Development Team, you translate lab findings into clear, practical guidance for regional delivery teams.
Your responsibilities include:
Installing, configuring, and technically validating Philips Patient Monitoring systems and related components in lab environments
Building and maintaining complex end-to-end lab environments that reflect realistic patient monitoring solutions
Performing technical pre-implementation assessments with a focus on system architecture, infrastructure, and integration readiness
Supporting First-of-a-Kind (FoK) projects by technically validating new or evolving solution setups and identifying potential implementation risks
Designing, executing, and documenting validation processes in the lab environment
Working with networked and virtualized infrastructures, including remotely accessible lab environments
Collaborating with Product Development teams to ensure network requirements are considered early in feature and service definition
Documenting validation findings such as best practices, reference architectures, and configurations in high-quality Solution Implementation Guides, covering:
Required system components and dependencies
Network and infrastructure considerations
Configuration and integration steps
Technical validation and testing processes
Acting as a technical expert for implementation services within the team and towards the regions
Addressing complex technical questions related to monitoring systems, networking, and IT infrastructure
You’re the right fit if
You hold a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Health Sciences, Architecture, Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or an equivalent field
Minimum 2 years of experience required with a Bachelor’s degree
No prior professional experience required with a Master’s degree
You have hands-on experience with Philips Patient Monitoring solutions, including installation and configuration at customer sites
You have solid knowledge of networking concepts (e.g. IP networking, VLANs, routing, firewall fundamentals)
You have experience with infrastructure and virtualization technologies (e.g. virtual machines, virtual networks, hosted lab access)
You understand how patient monitoring solutions are deployed and operated in real hospital IT environments
You have experience documenting technical processes and procedures
You are fluent in English and have good German language skills
