Position Summary
As the Brand Manager for Pricing & Promotions ,you’llbe a critical part of a key initiative to transform SpartanNash’s retail business, leading the charge to redefine how our banners connect with shoppers and stand out in a competitive marketplace.
In this influential position, you will help guide the pricing and promotional strategies for our grocery store banner brandsthatdrive shopper engagement and unlock growth through data-driven insights and creative excellence.
Here's What You'll Do
Brand Equity & Consistency
Reinforce brand equity for SpartanNash’s retail banners, ensuring consistent pricing and promotional execution.
Workclosely withtheMerchandising and Insights and Analyticsteams, developing a deep understanding of our current and future shoppers and what motivates them.
Marketing Strategy & Activation Plans
Leadthe multi-year strategic planning process, setting long-termgoalsanddeterminingthe growth levers needed to reach them.
Develop a comprehensive annual marketing planwith Merchandisingthat leads toapositive shopper priceperception(in store point of sale, wall ofvaluesmessaging, etc.).
Partnerwith theLoyalty team to ensure personalized, relevant promotions are displayed viaemail, thewebsite and otherappropriate Marketingchannels.
Collaboratewith theLoyalty andInsights andAnalytics team to identifyappropriate shoppersegmentation for price and promotional audience targetingvia various marketing channels.
Develop a comprehensive e-commerce price, promo and subscription strategy thataligns with banner brand metrics.
Creative & Media Management
Lead thelong and short-term pricing and promotional goalswith the internal Media team to supportcreating targeted full funnel marketing campaigns intended to reach the shopper before, during and after their shopping trips.
Influenceinternal teams to drive world-class creative execution that supports a positive customer priceperception.
Business Analysis & Optimization
Spearheadthe Merchandising and Insights and Analytics teamwith thereviewofkey business metrics (financial, market share, and brand equity) andtake action to optimizeperformance.
Establishregularbrand updates and internal business reviews.

Here's What You'll Need:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree (required) in Business Administration, Marketing, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Experience
- 4-5+ years of marketing, category management, productmanagementand/or product development experience.
Skills & Abilities
Consistentlycurious about shoppers, competitors, and the market.
Strategic thinker withabilityto balance long-term planning with short-term business needs.
Cross-functional collaborator; able to efficiently bring multiple subject matter experts together to create impactful work.
Strong analytical abilities; experienced in identifying opportunities through data analysis and bringing those opportunities to life.
Able to deal with ambiguity and to provide independent thinking supported by fact-based rationale.
Experienced in developing and executing compelling marketing creative from concept to activation, with or without agency support.
Passionate internal champion for brands and for the marketing function.
Influential storyteller with sound verbal and written communication skills.
Travel Requirements
- Willingness to travel, including overnight stays, up to 15% depending on business needs.
