About this position:
The Manager of Gas Operations is responsible for the operations of Gas Transmission and Storage department's (GTS) systems in Montana, South Dakota and Canada. This position involves comprehensive oversight of critical systems and processes that are essential for the reliable delivery and management of GTS services. The role demands a strategic leader who can drive operational excellence, manage compression operation/maintenance, and support future system needs.

About this job:
Demonstrates leadership consistent with NorthWestern Energy's code, values, policies, processes and controls
Utilizes effective management practices to maintain employee engagement and productivity
Maintain work schedules and identify operation projects for engineering, review engineering plans before they are implemented and oversee progress
Manage scheduling and work assignments of data coordinators, review work processes and monitor deadlines
Coordinate and support system operations and Gas Control
Provide leadership and supervise the field groups in Cut Bank, Havre, Mainline #3, and Dry Creek
Oversee Gas Transmissions Emergency Response Plan and actively participate in tabletop/field exercises
Support Load Forecasting for Gas Transmission & Storage 3rd party and Core Loads
Support the development of the annual expense budget and monitor budget status throughout the year
Manage the Gas Transmission & Storage Operator Qualification (OQ) program
Oversee the development and maintenance of Gas Transmission & Storage operations procedures and the employee training programs
Coordinate or direct development of activities to ensure that project needs and objectives are met
Lead employees to meet the organization's expectations for productivity, quality, and goal accomplishments including performance reviews, and salary administration recommendations
Travel up to 25% of time, including overnights and weekends as needed

Am I right for this job? Here's the success profile:
A bachelor's degree in engineering or related field is required. An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered
A minimum of five years of experience in Gas Transmission & Storage or similar experience is required
A minimum of three years of experience either formally or informally leading a team is required
Ability to obtain Operator Qualifications for Control Room Operations
Demonstrate and maintain a good safety record
Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record
The ability to timely and effectively communicate with a number of internal and external customers, including GTS Operations, NWE's regulatory group and gas transportation customers
Strong leadership skills including interpersonal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop department and department staff members
Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment
Evidence of the ability to practice a high level of confidentiality
Excellent organizational management skills
