Job Summary/Overall Objectives
Greets, assists patients, and directs phone calls to the proper area in a professional, efficient manner. Registration of patients using established procedures to initiate medical record, patient accounting, and enters orders into Meditech. All registration processes to be completed with a high degree of accuracy with special attention to the collections of financial information, authorizations and referrals if required and other related requirements.
Essential Job Functions
Accurately and efficiently inputs patient data into the computer system to register patients. And proper paperwork is completed and scanned.
Ensures ABN’s, referrals and insurance authorizations are obtained when indicated.
Monitors the patient waiting areas with an awareness of housekeeping and maintenance issues. Takes initiative to enter work orders and communicate to appropriate parties as well as alert supervisor of issues or concerns.
Assists the imaging staff and our patients by providing physical assistance or any support necessary to support patient flow/satisfaction.
Is a patient advocate by answering any questions they may have during registration, and/or apprises them of any delays or information they may require regarding their exam.

Competency and Experience [Knowledge, Skills and Abilities]
Required Qualifications/Experience
High School Diploma, GED or higher level of education.
Six months of experience in a customer service role.
Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment, and knowledge of legal aspects and liability of nursing practice.
Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience.
Preferred Qualifications/Experience
Six months experience in position utilizing medical terminology or one year health care registration and health care insurance knowledge.
Medical terminology training
Experience in Healthcare setting.
Heartsaver CPR
License, Certification & Clearances
Act 34-PA Criminal Record Check from the PA State Police system
Act 33/73 Clearances
Comprehensive Crisis Management per policy.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need (rotate shifts, standby, on-call, etc.).
Travel may be expected locally between System locations.
