Pine Belt Communications Outside Plant Technician in Butler, Alabama
Job Summary Installs and maintains broadband, television, and telephone services delivered over fiber optics and hybrid fiver-coax facilities. Services are delivered to the customer using one of several different protocols including but now limited to the following: Telephone: WIP and MGCP Cable television: IP Streaming and analog Broadband: Active Ethernet Fiber, GPON Fiber, and DOCSIS
Seeking applicants for a regular full-time position with standard company benefits. Possible job locations are the company ops centers in Arlington, and Butler.
*Job Responsibilities *Installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of customer broadband data, video, and voice services and associated equipment including but not limited to ethernet and coaxial cable, buried and aerial drop wire, copper and fiber optic network interface devices, splitters, amps, modems, routers, switches, video set-top boxes, power and battery back-up units. Verifies service quality using various items of test equipment. Examples include laptop computers, multimeters, coax signal meters, buried cable locators, fiber light source and optical meters. Wires new services using various power tools, hand tools, and equipment. Maintains and repairs existing services and equipment Maintains accurate records and forms, including customer billing sheets and daily inventory Confers with customers to determine problems and acceptable resolutions Provides customer training on all services provided Promotes the full breadth of company services through friendly, courteous, respectful, and informed interactions with all current and prospective customers Performs other related duties as assigned by management
