Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Manufacturing Engineer with a strong knowledge in mechanical assembly and special processes such as brazing, welding, and potting. The ideal candidate will work independently with minimal oversight, possess excellent attention to detail, and demonstrate creativity in providing innovative solutions to complex manufacturing issues.

Responsibilities

  • Develop specific methods and instructions for the manufacture and/or assembly of products.

  • Identify potential fabrication problems and develop fixturing and process updates to address them.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to implement improvements.

  • Observe, document, and review production builds on the shop floor.

  • Analyze and investigate defects found during the manufacturing process and determine corrective actions.

  • Establish touch labor cost targets for shop/lab activities as requested.

  • Define tool and gauge requirements and provide necessary input and support to the tool design group.

  • Ensure the availability of correct tools and gauges when needed in the process as prescribed by process documentation.

  • Propose engineering changes to determine feasibility, producibility, and delta labor impact.

Essential Skills

  • Manufacturing engineering

  • Lean manufacturing

  • Six Sigma

  • BS in Engineering

  • 1-3 years of experience as a manufacturing engineer

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in the aerospace industry is a plus

Work Environment

The position is onsite in a manufacturing environment. The work schedule is 1st shift, Monday through Friday, approximately 7 AM to 3 PM, subject to business needs.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Burnsville, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $37.00/hr.
