Job Title: Production Specialist I Job Description
As a Production Specialist, you will monitor the quality performance of products and materials throughout various stages, including receiving, assembly, and finishing processes. You will also provide support in assembly operations and adhere to quality inspection standards.
Responsibilities
Inspect products or components by confirming specifications, conducting visual inspections, and measurement tests.
Reject unacceptable materials, including raw materials or subassemblies.
Perform inspections using defined tools such as microscopes, calipers, CMM, AOI, or similar devices.
Inspect assemblies during the manufacturing process.
Perform product assembly as required.
Operate visual inspection devices like X-ray or AOI.
Capture and register inspection data using the required system.
Follow procedures when a non-conformance is detected, including actions appointed by the direct supervisor.
Follow additional inspection instructions documented by the organization and perform other assigned duties.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in soldering, testing, and rework.
IPC certification.
Ability to read schematics and drawings.
Minimum of 1-year working experience in the industry or demonstrated equivalent competency.
Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
Organized, detail-oriented, and quality-focused.
Knowledge of IPC standards such as IPC-A-610, IPC J-STD-001, and IPC-A600.
Ability to manage multiple activities concurrently.
Ability to distinguish different colors accurately.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Flexible and eager to learn.
Good team player with a positive attitude.
Experience in assembly, mechanical assembly, electrical assembly, soldering assembly, PCBA assembly, SMT soldering, and thru-hole soldering.

Work Environment
Work in a large, organized, clean, and quiet facility with multiple departments within the production floor. Employees may occasionally be exposed to dust, solder, metals, high noise levels, or physical hazards. The culture promotes teamwork, positivity, and inclusivity, with cross-training opportunities available. The environment can be louder during morning shifts and quieter in the afternoon. The team consists of 50 members. The dress code includes wearing a smock, shoe covers, earplugs, goggles, and closed-toe shoes. Work hours are Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Burnaby, BC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr.
