Job Title: Mechanical Assembler
Job Description
Join our dynamic team to work as a Mechanical Assembler in a collaborative production line setting. You will be responsible for manually assembling mechanical and electronic components of complex, high-density products. Your duties will include component preparation, placement, installation, final assembly, and packing, ensuring all standard operating procedures and quality standards are met. You will utilize hand tools, such as torque wrenches and screwdrivers, to install, mount, and fasten parts, components, wiring, and harnesses to sub-assemblies and assemblies.
Work Environment
Work in a large, organized, clean, and quiet facility that houses multiple departments on the production floor. While generally quiet, the environment can be noisier during morning shifts. Employees may be exposed to dust, solder, metals, high noise levels from operating machinery, or physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts. The company fosters a positive team attitude and offers cross-training opportunities across departments. Dress code includes wearing a smock, shoe covers, ear plugs, goggles, and closed-toe shoes. The shift is from Monday to Friday, 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM, with initial training on the morning shift.
Responsibilities
Manually assemble mechanical and electronic components.
Ensure SOPs and quality standards are consistently adhered to.
Prepare, place, and install components, and carry out final assembly and packing.
Use hand tools for changing bits and fastening components.
Install, mount, and fasten parts, components, wiring, and harnesses.
Utilize computers to access diagrams and instructions for assembly.
Engage in repetitive and detail-oriented tasks.
Essential Skills
1-2 years of assembly experience.
Proficiency with hand tools such as screwdrivers and torque wrenches.
Strong English communication skills for reading and understanding assembly documentation.
Good computer skills with the ability to use SharePoint and complete paperwork.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. on a non-repetitive basis.
Ability to accurately distinguish different colors.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with electronic assembly in addition to mechanical.
Familiarity with Surface Mount Technology (SMT).
Hand soldering experience.
Flexible and eager to learn.
Positive team player.
