MARINE VIEW COLD STORAGE Refrigeration and Maintenance Technician in BURLINGTON, Washington
Seafood processing and cold storage company is looking for a Refrigeration and Maintenance Technician for full-time, year-round, employment. Duties in this position will be repairing production equipment, maintenance of refrigeration systems (both ammonia and CO2) for the cold storage, and general repair and maintenance of the facility. Work is performed both inside and outside the shop, warehouse, production areas, and freezers. This position is a hands-on maintenance and repair position. It is important to have strong mechanical skills and experience for this position. Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems is very helpful. We do contract with outside vendors when additional refrigeration help and knowledge is necessary. HOURS / DAYS / SCHEDULE: - Working hours are generally 7:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday-Friday (40 hours and 2.5 hours OT per week.) During peak season, the job may require additional overtime work hours including weekends. Must be available during all production hours. JOB REQUIREMENTS: - Strong mechanical skills required. - Some ammonia refrigeration training and experience helpful. - Experience in a food processing or food manufacturing company is helpful. - Ability to speak, read and write English is a necessity. - Good oral and written communication skills imperative. - Attention to detail and self-motivation are important. - Must be able to work well with others and with minimal supervision. - Forklift experience helpful but will train. - Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs alone. - Ability to stand and work on your feet. - Must be able to work in a wet and sometimes cold environment. - Ability to work in freezer as low as -20 degrees for 1-2 hours consecutively on occasion. - Background check and drug test required. - Special skills desired include: 1 phase and 3 phase electrical. Plumbing. Welding. Repair of small gear box driven equipment.
