Maintenance Technician (Residential)

Location: Burlington, VT

Job Type: Full-time, on-site Monday to Friday (On-call one weekend/month)

Pay Range: $23–$26 per hour

Job Summary

Adecco Permanent Recruitment is partnering with a well-established property management organization in the Burlington area to help them hire a Maintenance Technician. This key role supports daily maintenance operations, ensuring that facilities, equipment, and systems are safe, functional, and well-maintained. The ideal candidate takes pride in quality workmanship, communicates professionally, and works well both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical components.

  • Complete service requests, repairs, and equipment replacements in a timely, professional manner.

  • Support property turnover and readiness by completing unit inspections, repairs, and updates per checklist.

  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify maintenance issues and ensure compliance with safety standards.

  • Operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, and mechanical equipment safely and effectively.

  • Maintain electronic work order documentation and communicate updates using phone or tablet-based systems.

  • Participate in the on-call rotation for after-hours maintenance needs (approximately six weeks per year).

  • Follow all safety, purchasing, and property maintenance procedures as directed by management.

Qualifications and Must-Haves

  • 2+ years of maintenance, building repair, or facilities experience preferred.

  • Working knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.

  • Ability to operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.

  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a team-focused attitude.

  • Physically able to stand, bend, lift, and move materials up to 75 lbs. as needed.

Pay Details: $23.00 to $26.00 per hour
