Job Overview\ A Corrections Recovery Coach works out of the Turning Point Center of Chittenden County (TPCCC), providing direct peer recovery-related services and support to those living with substance use disorder who are residing in, or are soon to leave, the Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility (CRCF). This is a non-exempt part-time position with the hourly wage, \$21. The position is eligible for part-time employee benefits: paid vacation, sick, and holidays, and comes with a part-time health and wellness stipend. TPCCC recognizes the needs of all staff performing this courageous work and all employees are eligible to use the centers employee assistance program. The Center is an EOE and encourages individuals in long-term recovery from SUD to apply.

Responsibilities

Provide direct peer recovery related services to individuals presently residing in CRCF.

Enhance opportunities for individuals to become familiar with the Turning Point Center of Chittenden County and other local community resources available.

Assist individuals to identify and develop natural community supports to foster independence and community integration.

Develop and implement recovery plans in collaboration with clients, utilizing evidence-based practices

Promotes the Chittenden County Corrections Program and other support services offered at the Turning Point Center of Chittenden County among all local community partners.

Offer mentoring and peer support to foster motivation, accountability, and resilience among clients

Models and exemplifies all recovery principles to exhibit that recovery is attainable while utilizing personal and professional experience to promote wellness and recovery.

Be responsible for maintaining, tracking, and reporting all coaching participant progress surrounding their designed recovery goals, tranistion from corrections, and planning their recovery care.

Uphold confidentiality and adhere to all legal and ethical standards related to peer recovery support work.

Requirements

A self-identified person in long-term recovery from substance use disorder (3 year minimum).

Experience with, or educational background of, recovery concepts and practices of recovery that honor any pathway to recovery.

Organized, self-motivated, creative, and committed to working in a diverse environment.

Be able to work within any Correctional Facility.

Excellent written and oral communication

Excellent interpersonal skills and comfortable working with all levels of professionals.

Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, as well as working with various data platforms.

Must have a valid drivers license, reliable transportation, and current insurance coverage.

Must have flexible schedule.

Preferred Recovery Center experience/affiliation and current IC&RC Recovery Coach certificate.

Preferred advanced motivational interviewing skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
