Civil Engineering Technician – Direct Hire – VT or NY

Manpower has partnered with a well known Architectural Firm that has continuously grown their business, with hiring a Civil Engineering Technician! This is a direct hire opportunity. We’re seeking a detail‑oriented Civil Engineering Technician II to support design, drafting, field verification, and construction coordination for a variety of civil infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both technical design work and hands-on field engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Create high‑quality CADD drawings and designs for water and wastewater systems.
Research relevant codes, standards, regulations, and permitting requirements.
Assist with Basis of Design documentation, cost estimates, specifications, and technical reports.
Conduct field/site visits to document existing conditions and verify constructed work meets design intent.
Collaborate closely with internal teams, clients, and contractors; serve as Resident Project Representative when needed.
Interpret blueprints, maps, plans, and construction specifications.
Perform engineering calculations, field measurements, sampling, and material testing.
Inspect construction projects to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
Support problem‑solving discussions with engineers and contractors on complex construction issues.
Qualifications
Strong working knowledge of:
Algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and engineering measurement principles.
Surveying procedures, techniques, and equipment.
Physical properties of construction materials.
Drafting and CADD applications.
Testing methods for soils and construction materials.
Public works construction practices (roads, drainage, sewer systems).
Computer‑assisted applications used for record‑keeping, scheduling, and CAD.
