Schedule:

  • Monday–Friday

  • 5 hours per day (25 hours per week)

  • Flexible scheduling during office hours (7:30 AM – 4:00 PM) Pay Rate: $23.00 per hour Potential to Convert: Yes — opportunity to become full?time

Position Overview

The Assistant Property Manager supports daily operations of an elderly senior affordable housing community. This position is supervised by and reports directly to the Property Manager. The role requires strong organizational skills, accuracy, professionalism, and the ability to interact respectfully and effectively with senior residents.

Key Responsibilities

Rent Collection & Financial Duties

  • Collect monthly rent in accordance with established rent collection policies

  • Arrange payment schedules for residents experiencing financial difficulty, following approved policy

  • Monitor payment plans closely to prevent accounts from going into arrears

  • Keep the Property Manager informed of all rent receivables

  • Make weekly deposits to appropriate bank accounts

  • Enter all rent and subsidy receipts into the Yardi accounting system

Recertification & Compliance (HUD)

  • Ensure all households are recertified annually, and more frequently when interim recertifications are required

  • Strictly adhere to HUD recertification schedules and compliance requirements

  • Conduct annual resident interviews to review income questionnaires

  • Ensure all sections of forms are fully completed with no missing information

  • Obtain required signatures for third?party verifications

  • Send written third?party verification requests to appropriate sources

Recordkeeping & Administration

  • Maintain accurate and up?to?date computer records

  • Update resident emergency contact information and ensure changes are documented in writing and filed appropriately

Property & Resident Services

  • Conduct weekly inspections of common areas

  • Notify the Director of Maintenance of needed work orders

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance inspections according to schedule

  • Respond to resident concerns professionally, including conflict resolution, referrals, and follow?up

  • Attend the monthly resident community meeting

Qualifications & Skills

  • Previous experience in property management, affordable housing, or senior housing preferred

  • Knowledge of HUD regulations and recertification processes strongly preferred

  • Experience with Yardi or similar property management software is a plus

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially

  • Professional and compassionate communication skills when working with elderly residents

Pay Details: $23.00 per hour
