Advertising/Posting Title Assistant Director for Fraternity & Sorority Life

Posting Summary

Provide leadership in all facets of UVM’s fraternity and sorority program, supporting the success and development of recognized Greek-letter organizations, their members, and alumni. Promote an inclusive, healthy, and engaged fraternity and sorority community, overseeing chapter development and compliance, recruitment, risk prevention and response, and community relations. Work collaboratively with the Coordinator for Fraternity & Sorority Life Coordinator and Graduate Assistant to provide intentional and consistent programming and advising to the FSL community. Serve as an actively engaged campus partner and representative of Student Life. Responsible for supporting the mission and philosophy of the Department of Student Life, the Division of Student Affairs and the University of Vermont. Reports to the Associate Director of Student Involvement

Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

Master’s degree in student affairs or related field and three years related experience required. Organizational consulting, leadership development, and program development skills required.

Knowledge of best practices and trends in fraternity and sorority life. Experience implementing risk prevention and management in a university setting required. Proven ability to resolve conflicts and manage ambiguity. Demonstrated ability to forge relationships and work effectively with college students. Effective organizational, time management, and basic computer skills required. Demonstrated commitment to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment.

Desirable Qualifications

Membership in a fraternity or sorority.

Anticipated Pay Range $60,000-$65,000
