Job Summary:
The Test Engineer is responsible for safety, coordination, performance and documentation of Crane Aerospace Brake Control System component testing. Designs tests to verify product performance and DO-160 or MIL-STD-810 environmental capabilities including: test article preparation, equipment setup, data acquisition system programming and conducting tests.
Essential Functions:
Active member of a new product development team and provide design-for-testability input to new product designs.
Determine, define, and document specifications and test requirements that satisfy customer qualification requirements.
Create test plans and procedures for design verification and qualification testing that best demonstrates compliance to customer and airworthiness requirements.
Design vibration and test fixtures and test systems for design verification and qualification testing of new products using SolidWorks or similar modeling tool.
Supervise testing which includes compliance to the procedure, maintaining schedules and controlling costs.
Ensure that tests are properly documented and prepare test reports.
Travel to outside labs and work offsite as required
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
Experience: 3+ years of experience in hardware test engineering or an engineering internship, preferably in an aerospace related product field.Experience in testing hydraulic, electronic or pneumatic devices.
Knowledge: Proficient knowledge of vibration theory, vibration fixture design and test methods.Understanding of instrumentation techniques and data acquisition for testing (thermocouples, pressure sensors, flow meters).Expert Word, PowerPoint and Excel.Advanced mechanical design/drafting utilizing SolidWorks modeling tools. Advanced expertise writing test procedures and test reports to customer requirements.
Skills/Abilities: Demonstrated ability to coordinate several projects and engineering activities while balancing priorities and schedule commitments. Work independently under minimal supervision and guidance to perform tasks of substantial complexity and to be capable of leading and coordinating the efforts of technicians.Able to travel to outside labs and work offsite as required.
Eligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE

Requires work with small to medium size hand and power tools
Occasional travel to customer and outside test lab facilities for technical interchange meetings, design reviews, product testing support, and to attend technical seminars
May need to travel domestically and internationally (up to 10%)

Salary Range: $95,451.20 to $111,155.20 Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications. Some roles may be eligible for participation in performance-based bonus programs.
