Job Description

We are seeking a Media Assistant to support media operations, asset processing, and delivery workflows within a fast‑paced, results‑driven media technology environment. This role supports the preparation, validation, trafficking, and distribution of digital media assets across streaming and broadcast platforms.

The Media Assistant will work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure media assets meet technical, editorial, and delivery specifications while supporting operational reporting and workflow efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and manage media assets in a results‑driven environment

  • Traffic media assets using tools such as Google-based systems, Airtable, or internal platforms

  • Prepare media for OTT, streaming, and downstream distribution

  • Perform editorial updates to final files to ensure compliance with distribution specifications

  • Measure and validate audio loudness to meet required standards

  • Review, validate, and remediate timed text files (English SDH and foreign language subtitles)

  • Receive and deliver media via Aspera or other cloud-based delivery mechanisms

  • Troubleshoot media file issues and recommend corrective actions

  • Perform metadata validation and entry, including segment timing for broadcast automation systems

  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient execution of daily operations

  • Assist management with daily, weekly, and executive-level operational reporting

Technical Skills & Tools

The Media Assistant should have experience or working knowledge of:

  • Cloud-based asset management systems (Aspera On Cloud, MAMs, Data I/O)

  • Media curation, trafficking, and streaming workflows from intake to delivery

  • Video and audio transcoding/encoding using tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro

  • Digital file formats including ProRes and proxy file creation

  • Timed Text workflows, including English SDH and foreign language subtitles

  • HDR and SDR color workflows and tools such as Colorfront Transkoder

  • Media validation tools such as MediaInfo and Dolby Vision Metafier

  • Harding software for photosensitive epilepsy (PSE) testing

  • Short-form media content, including horizontal and vertical formats

    Requirements

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in media asset preparation, media operations, or editorial environments

  • Prior experience using cloud-based asset management or delivery systems (Aspera On Cloud, MAMs, Data I/O)

  • Understanding of streaming specifications and delivery workflows

  • Hands-on experience with video and audio transcoding/encoding

  • Solid understanding of digital file formats and subtitle workflows

  • Working knowledge of HDR/SDR color space management

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a production environment

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a high-functioning team

  • Experience supporting high-volume or enterprise-scale media operations
