Your New Role…

This position is responsible for executing trade programs across bookstores, mass accounts, libraries, and educational outlets to drive readership growth of DC’s comics and graphic novels around the world. This role brings a strategic focus to book trade sales and marketing initiatives while supporting DC’s priorities of operating as “one team” and delivering “best-in-class operations.”

Your Role Accountabilities…

  • In conjunction with the Director, Book Channel Sales and DC’s global book distributor, lead the execution of account-specific promotions and sales plans for key retail accounts, independent bookstores, libraries, schools and mass accounts. Tailor programs to audience targets within each channel and develop account-specific KPIs for post-promotion tracking.

  • Oversee the creation of trade marketing and merchandising toolkits tailored for key retail accounts and educational outlets. Collaborate with the Marketing team to lead the design and development of presentations and other support materials for the Book Channel Sales team to present to retail buyers and other key stakeholders.

  • Lead support for the pre-order solicitation process by developing information and materials for DC’s upcoming slate offerings, with the goal of maximizing awareness, orders, and purchase intent across all book channel accounts. Collaborate with cross departmental partners to develop ongoing CRM and newsletter communications for indie and national bookstores.

  • Develop insights into the sell-through and overall program performance for executed account-specific programs, comparing results to comparable competitive programs in retail and educational outlets. Present findings to key stakeholders on placement quality, promotion execution, sales lifts, and overall performance outcomes tied to key KPIs.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience…

  • At least six (6) years of experience in account management, sales, and/or retail marketing required.

  • At least two (2) years of experience in comics publishing and/or retail sales required.

  • Experience in data analysis, market research, and P&L management is preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience required.

  • MBA or MFA is a plus.

  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively and tactfully (both verbally and in writing) with individuals and groups at all levels of the organization, as well as with external stakeholders (such as vendors.)

  • Must have the ability to successfully work in team environment and interact with other people required.

  • Must have the ability to organize, work well under time constraints, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks and project elements simultaneously.

  • Must have the ability to pay close attention to details and handle confidential material.

  • Intermediate to Advanced proficiency using Microsoft Office software (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and Adobe Creative Cloud software (such as Acrobat, Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign) required.\

  • Must be able to travel as needed approximately 15% of the time.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $73,500.00 - $136,500.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
