Robert Half Accounting Manager/Supervisor in Burbank, California
Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee financial operations for a dynamic retail and e-commerce business based in Burbank, California. This role is integral to ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing high-volume transactions, and optimizing accounting processes across diverse sales channels. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of inventory and revenue accounting.
Responsibilities:
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy in revenue, inventory, and general ledger accounts.
• Manage accounting operations for online sales platforms, payment processors, and return transactions.
• Oversee inventory valuation and reconciliation to maintain consistency across systems.
• Prepare comprehensive financial statements and provide support for budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Strengthen internal controls and enhance efficiency within accounting procedures.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff while fostering collaboration with operations and finance teams.
• Support integrations and system improvements related to e-commerce platforms to enhance scalability.
• Conduct audits and reviews to ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends and opportunities for cost optimization.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to align accounting practices with organizational goals. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with a focus on retail or e-commerce industries.
• Proficiency in revenue recognition and inventory accounting principles.
• Expertise in using QuickBooks, including Enterprise and Online versions.
• Experience working in high-volume transaction environments.
• Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to manage and develop teams.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to process improvement and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
