Staff Manufacturing Controls Engineer (Multiple Positions), Tesla, Inc., Buffalo, NY: Manage all controls related activities for Gigafactory New York leading and assisting production in all controls related topics and issues. Work cooperatively with the Process Engineering, Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and Production team to manage controls solutions and controls enhancements to increase efficiency and quality. Manage, lead and guide a team of engineers and interns, including performance, pay, hiring, firing, and others. Oversee and determine scheduling for team. Create development and performance plans. Resolve and troubleshoot difficult breakdowns and chronic equipment failures. Responsible for implementing and managing continuous process optimization including the addition of advanced and conventional technologies to improve quality, productivity and reduce overall waste. Review subordinates documentation of all electrical equipment and associated procedures. Manage teams job duties in designing, selecting, managing, programming, and commissioning of automation equipment used to improve the existing systems. Identify weak areas of the production systems using root cause analysis and first principles thinking, and implement effective countermeasures using all available means. Full time employment, Monday Friday, 40 hours per week, $164,385.00 per year. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering or related field and 8 years of progressive, post-bachelors related work experience. Alternatively, a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering or related field and 6 years of related work experience. Must have 6 years of experience in creating complete electrical schematics and reverse-engineering as-built schematics from existing electrical systems, using one or a combination of the following: AutoCAD Electrical and/or EPLAN; Must have 6 years of experience with project management, including managing scope, budget, timelines and leading a team of controls engineers; Must have 6 years of experience in programming and debugging IEC languages on PLCs using one of the following software packages: Rockwell Studio5000 and/or Siemens TIA Portal; Must have 6 years of experience in creating user-friendly HMIs using one or a combination of the following software: Inductive Ignition, Rockwell FactoryTalk View Studio, and/or Siemens TIA Portal; Must have 5 years of experience in one or a combination of the following Electrical Standards (or foreign equivalent): NFPA79, UL508A, and/or OSHAs NRTL program; Must have 5 years of experience with generation and/or reviewing electrical diagrams and prints; Must have 5 years of experience in the following safety standards ANSI/RIA, NFPA70E and ISO (or foreign equivalent) for the assessment, design, and implementation of safety-rated systems; Must have 5 years of experience in managing customers, vendors, and suppliers; Must have 5 years of experience in enforcing standards, reviewing technical documentation, and conducting acceptance test; Must have 4 years of experience in programming and teaching one or a combination of the following robots: Fanuc, ABB, Kuka, and/or Yaskawa; and Must have 3 years of experience in programming and teaching one or a combination of the following vision systems: Fanuc iRVision, Cognex, and/or Keyence.
