Description
The Quality Engineer is a key contributor to ensuring products, processes, and systems meet or exceed customer, regulatory, and internal quality standards. This role supports and advances the Quality Management System (QMS) through audits, inspections, corrective and preventive actions, supplier quality oversight, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Quality Engineer works closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, R&D, and Supply Chain teams to promote compliance, drive problem resolution, and support world‑class manufacturing operations.
The Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting and advancing the Quality Management System by ensuring compliance with internal procedures, customer requirements, and applicable industry standards. This role leads problem‑solving and corrective action activities, oversees calibration programs, conducts inspections and audits, and supports supplier qualification and performance. The Quality Engineer ensures product conformity through First Article Inspections, non‑conformance disposition, and certification documentation, while maintaining accurate quality records and metrics.
Working closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, R&D, and Supply Chain, the Quality Engineer drives continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing defects, scrap, and process variation using Lean Six Sigma and data‑driven methodologies. This position also supports quality planning for new product introductions, employee training, and ongoing compliance, while promoting a culture of integrity, accountability, teamwork, and customer focus essential to world‑class manufacturing operations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a technical or professional discipline with a minimum of 5 years of experience in quality and manufacturing, or an Associate’s degree with 8 years of equivalent experience. Strong working knowledge of AS9100 quality systems within aviation, space, and defense environments; Certified Auditor preferred. Experience with risk management methodologies and tools such as FMEA and risk assessments, with familiarity in Nadcap standards preferred. Proficient in standard business and quality software tools, including Microsoft Office, Minitab, Access, and database systems. Professional certifications such as CQE, CQA, and/or CSS Black Belt are desirable.
Salary ranges for this position vary by job location and are determined based on experience, reflecting our commitment to recognizing individual expertise and contributions.
