Actalent Quality Engineer in Buffalo, New York

Quality Engineer

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Engineer to identify and communicate customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements. You will facilitate the development of process flows, PFMEAs, and Control Plans in accordance with the identified requirements. Your role will involve creating and maintaining documentation such as work instructions, checklists, and inspection plans to meet project needs.

Responsibilities

  • Create, review, and modify test and inspection procedures and plans prior to implementation.

  • Facilitate and promote the use of appropriate problem-solving techniques for effective root cause analysis and successful corrective actions.

  • Support and contribute to investigations of nonconformances found both internally and reported by customers. Take actions to assess the extent of the problem and contribute to remedial actions.

  • Interact with other departments, customers, and suppliers as necessary for effective solutions to identified problems, corrective actions, and follow-up activities.

  • Provide training and support to employees on quality concerns, customer complaints, and the application of quality methodologies.

  • Facilitate improvement projects to enhance project performance.

  • Support customer visits and audits.

  • Work collaboratively with process owners to develop, improve, and refine processes, assessing the effectiveness of changes.

  • Analyze manufacturing and quality data to identify trends and develop proactive actions to mitigate potential risks to products and customers.

  • Perform any other tasks or activities assigned within the scope of the quality management system and company needs.

Essential Skills

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, related process controls, and inspection and test methods.

  • Experience in ISO 9001 standards.

  • Proficiency in applying lean manufacturing techniques.

  • Experience in PFMEA methodology.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • High level of verbal and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.

  • Working knowledge of MS Office suite.

  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Quality, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent.

  • 5+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a similar role.

  • Experience in the Semiconductor, Nuclear, Aerospace, and/or Defense Industries is a plus.

  • Familiarity with quality engineering, ASME standards, pressure vessels, root cause analysis, vendor management, and supplier audits.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Buffalo, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
