Department of Labor Project Coordinator Facilities Coordinator Buffalo in BUFFALO, New York
As a Facilities Coordinator in Western NY, you would be the main point of contact for tenant agency representatives and visitors regarding building issues, ensuring customer satisfaction. You would be responsible for maintaining a scheduled maintenance program. Your duties would include, but are not limited to the following: Manage work assignments while planning and scheduling work in response to priorities Review and complete assigned work orders using a facilities management system. Assists in relocations and office moves when required Supervise the acceptance, acquisition, and storage of supplies and materials Observe and enforce compliance with applicable codes, ordinances, and laws related to building and furniture applications Administer a facilities maintenance program by coordinating preventive maintenance with applicable parties Perform on-site evaluation of service contracts and allocate resources to accomplish routine activities Assist with the coordination of activities related to vendors, contractors, inspectors, and tenants Respond to tenant complaints and report to supervising Public Buildings Manager 3 (PBM3) of any/all issues affecting health, comfort, and safety Oversee and report actions and ongoing operations related to state and contractual employees engaging in grounds maintenance, parking facilities operations, custodial services, maintenance, and security. Inspect the results for quality and safety. Obtain estimates and implements maintenance plans, construction requests, and Preventive Maintenance/Rehabilitation & Improvement (PMR&I) plans including security, health and life safety, parking, and emergency procedures under the guidance of a PBM3. Communicate clearly and professionally with employees, landlords, building management, and vendors both through email and verbal conversations Manage the demands of several facilities, ensuring consistency of operations, while advising supervising PBM3 on unique situations. Some daytime regional travel may be required Additional duties assigned as needed Either 1. five years of experience managing an occupied commercial building with that MUST include the direct responsibility for building maintenance (including HVAC), minor building rehabilitation AND one or more of the following three areas: grounds maintenance, security and access control, or cleaning oversight including sanitary requirements and inspection. In addition, at least one of the five years must include supervision of service contractors or in-house staff including plumbers, electricians, carpenters and other skilled trades persons. Or 2. 60 semester credit hours in architecture, architectural technology, construction management, construction technology, engineering, engineering technology, facilities management, business, business administration, or public administration AND three years of experience managing an occupied commercial building that MUST include the direct responsibility for building maintenance (including HVAC), minor building rehabilitation AND one or more of the following three areas: grounds maintenance, security and access control, or cleaning oversight including sanitary requirements and inspection. In addition, at least one of the three years must include supervision of service contractors or in-house staff including plumbers, electricians, carpenters and other skilled trades persons.
