DuPont Tedlar® is seeking a Production Manufacturing Engineer to play a key, high-impact role at our Buffalo, NY site. In this position, you'll be at the center of plant operations-driving improvements, solving technical challenges, and enabling the safe, reliable, and efficient production of industry-leading Tedlar® films. This is an opportunity to combine hands-on engineering with strategic influence, helping to power innovations that reach customers around the world.
You will be a critical resource for operations, applying your technical expertise to enhance process safety, increase yield, boost capacity, and improve overall plant performance. You'll partner closely with operations, technology, EHS, supply chain, and leadership while gaining deep exposure to large-scale chemical manufacturing systems. As you grow, you'll become a trusted first responder for complex plant troubleshooting and a key driver of continuous improvement.
What You'll Do & Lead
Take full ownership of your production unit-celebrate wins, learn from losses, and continually raise the bar.
Demonstrate courageous leadership by coaching, asking the right questions, and intervening to ensure safe, high-quality operations.
Challenge outdated processes and bring fresh thinking to make manufacturing safer, faster, and more efficient.
Influence across teams and model the professionalism and collaboration that fuel a strong plant culture.
Apply continuous improvement tools to accelerate performance, profitability, and customer value.
Stay deeply connected to customer needs and help deliver best-in-class quality, responsiveness, and reliability.
Leverage plant data, historical trends, and insights from subject-matter experts to drive technical excellence.
Lead advanced troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for asset utilization and equipment performance issues.
Maintain a strong field presence-understanding how and why procedures matter and reinforcing safe operations.
Review daily logs, alarms, KPIs, and performance trends to ensure optimal operation of your area.
Collaborate with Supply Chain and Production Planning to maximize scheduling efficiency.
Translate business and production goals into actionable daily operating plans.
Respond rapidly to operational issues and provide technical leadership during unplanned events.
Drive improvements in raw material efficiency, yields, waste reduction, and overall operational discipline.
Ensure compliance with permits, environmental regulations, and site-wide operating standards.
Understand site integration and identify opportunities to improve overall plant system performance.
What You Bring
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
1-5 years of experience in manufacturing, chemical processing, or a related field
Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement (a plus)
A passion for hands-on problem solving, operational excellence, and making an impact every day
