This requires us to deliver on our promises and always look for new opportunities to grow, both ourselves and our business.Job PurposeFacilitate Transmission Planning functions within the Transmission Planning group responsible for New York. Establish process improvements and workflows that help drive transmission development/expansion plans for the optimized, safe, and effective management of our transmission assets with respect to thermal (powerflow), stability, voltage, and short circuit requirements over their whole life cycle in New York.Key Accountabilities * Serve as National Grid's representative in engagements with Joint Utilities (JU) and NYISO for the FERC 715 Annual Database Update and Interconnection Cluster Study processes. * Coordinate engineering teams to achieve milestones and meet compliance requirements related to FERC 715 and Interconnection Cluster Studies. * Lead Transmission Planning's involvement in the NYISO Interconnection Cluster Study process (FERC order 2023) including completion of pre-application reviews, review of study scopes, steady state cases, and short circuit cases, Feasibility Reports, System Impact Studies and Facility Studies. * Manage the implementation of the new ratings database by developing and adhering to detailed timelines to achieve operational deployment. * Proactively guide the team in validating and updating equipment ratings to ensure compliance with NPCC FAC-008 standards. * Collaborate effectively within cross-functional project teams, engaging with professionals across diverse technical disciplines and industry backgrounds. * Document study findings in reports and prepare and defend recommendations in presentations to executives responsible for funding decisions. * Identify and take accountability for the resolution of technical challenges encountered throughout various project phases. * Identify and resolve technical challenges encountered throughout various project phases.Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required * Able to lead and supervise a project team or virtual teams to achieve business objectives. * Strong project management, writing, and presentation development skills. * Superb ability to negotiate, problem solve and influence key stakeholders, resulting in desired outcomes and delivering strong deals for National Grid. * Exceptional interpersonal, relationship building, and collaboration skills at all levels.Qualifications * A Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in power and electrical planning or energy policy discipline * Minimum of 8 to 10 years of related experience and credentials. * Demonstrate a high level of personal initiative and ability to interact with company personnel, external engineering firms, regulatory representatives, and ISO/NPCC/NERC representatives in a positive, team-building manner. * Familiarity with transmission planning standards and criteria of NERC, NPCC. * Experience within an RTO (such as ISO-NE, NYISO, PJM, CAISO etc.) planning processes preferred. * Proficiency in personal computer office-based software applications such as MSOffice (Word, Excel, and Access.) * Ability to prioritize work for yourself and team members given day-to-day requiring multiple projects at one time, to work in a fast-pace
