Position Summary
CVS myPBM Clinical is seeking hands‑on, passionate professionals to join a high‑energy team dedicated to making a meaningful impact in the technology space. We are currently looking for a highly skilled, full stack Senior Software Engineer to join a team responsible for building software components on a cutting‑edge, cloud‑native platform hosted on Azure Kubernetes.
In this role, you will play a critical part in designing and developing microservices that drive the modernization of the clinical domain. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in backend and frontend development, system design, and a strong understanding of cloud‑native software engineering principles.
As part of a team of dedicated software engineers, you will work on applications and products at the forefront of technology, contributing to scalable, resilient solutions that support critical clinical and business capabilities.
This role requires someone to work a hybrid (remote + office) schedule from one of our technical offices in either Buffalo Grove, IL or Richardson, TX
Expectations for the Role
Establish and implement processes to streamline software development and ensure adherence to best practices.
Design and develop complex software systems to meet business requirements and optimize performance.
Assess project requirements and deliver projects on time and within budget.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication and alignment of software development efforts with overall project goals and timelines.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices to maintain the quality and security of software products.
Integrate applications with cloud-native services such as managed databases.
Implement security measures and best practices for cloud deployments.
Optimize applications for cloud environments to maximize cost-efficiency and resource utilization.
Build and integrate APIs (both GraphQL and REST) for scalable service communication.
Deploy and manage services on Azure Kubernetes.
Automate CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of software development experience with specific development experience in Back End technologies such as Java and Spring Boot.
2+ years working with APIs (GraphQL and REST) in microservices architectures
2+ years hands-on experience with Azure
2+ years hands-on experience with Angular
2+ years of experience with databases (Oracle)
2+ years’ experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with pub/sub tools like Kafka or similar
Hands-on experience with Azure Kubernetes
Familiarity with Kubernetes concepts
Strong understanding of microservice best practices and distributed systems
Healthcare domain experience preferred
Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$92,700.00 - $203,940.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
