Job Title: Material Handler
Job Description
The Material Handler plays a key role in supporting warehouse and distribution operations by safely loading and unloading shipments, managing inventory, and preparing orders for daily shipment. This position operates a variety of material handling equipment, follows established distribution procedures, and helps the warehouse team meet productivity goals while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
Responsibilities
Load and unload all inbound and outbound trailers, trucks, and vans while using all required safety devices and following established distribution center procedures.
Conduct daily cycle counts and participate in physical inventories to maintain accurate stock levels.
Consolidate products to optimize space utilization within the warehouse.
Maintain awareness of all products and their specific handling requirements to ensure proper storage and movement.
Monitor warehouse inventory levels and replenish inventory into warehouse racking as needed.
Assist the warehouse team in meeting productivity requirements by completing assigned tasks efficiently and accurately.
Prepare items according to customer packaging, labeling, and shipping requirements, including picking and packing items for daily orders following departmental procedures.
Operate material handling equipment such as a vertical baler, pallet jack, two-wheel cart, bar code scanners, conveyor, air machine, sealed air systems, and shipping manifest systems, with the exception of industrial lift trucks until proper certification is obtained.
Follow guidelines and directions set by the Distribution Management Team and perform other related duties as assigned.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience as a material handler, warehouse associate, or in a similar warehouse role.
Experience with vertical balers, pallet jacks, two-wheel carts, bar code scanners, and air machines.
Experience with stand-up forklifts is beneficial, especially when combined with forklift certification.
Background in production, order picking, packaging, and loading activities.
Familiarity with shipping manifest systems and related warehouse technology is a plus.

Work takes place in a warehouse setting that uses material handling equipment such as vertical balers, pallet jacks, two-wheel carts, bar code scanners, conveyors, air machines, sealed air systems, and shipping manifest systems.

This is a Permanent position based out of Buffalo Grove, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
