IBM Site Reliability Engineer in BUDAPEST, Hungary
Introduction
The IBM Cloud Databases (ICD) team is responsible for developing and operating the Software as a Service (SaaS) offerings that provide Database as a Services (DBaaS) in IBM Cloud.
We are a "You build it, You run it" culture. As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will join our follow-the-sun rotation where you will be the primary responder for automated system alerts. You will follow runbooks to resolve such issues and use your troubleshooting and analytical skills to diagnose or troubleshoot platform or Data Service issues.
Your role and responsibilities
The Site Reliability engineer must have a deep understanding of the database server software, HA configurations, and general operations in a production environment. The key requirement is to have a passion for maintaining a High quality, Highly Available service.
Required technical and professional expertise
Experience with GoLang or Python
Experience with administration of a mainstream database technology such as PostgreSQL, Elastic, MySQL, Redis, or MongoDB
Experience operating production Kubernetes clusters
Experience with containerisation such as Docker or similar
Experience with troubleshooting failures in Kubernetes clusters and debugging database failures
Preferred technical and professional experience
Automation/Scripting: In depth experience with the Ansible, Terraform, and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, IBM Continuous Delivery, ArgoCD
Monitoring/Observability: Hands on experience crafting alerts and dashboards using tools such as Instana, New Relic, Grafana/Prometheus
