What you’ll do:

The Software Quality Manager establishes, deploys, and continuously improves Firmware/Software Quality Assurance governance across the Electrical Sector EMEA. The role partners with engineering, program management, supplier quality and cross‑functional teams to embed practical Firmware/Software lifecycle practices. Additionally, this is also an executional role with authority to audit, verify compliance, approve and hold gates and releases, assess customer and regulatory adherence, and escalate non‑conformances to documented CAPA closure.

Strategy & Change Leadership

  • Work closely with engineering, Program Mgmt and cross‑functional partners to jointly elevate firmware/software quality practices across Electrical Sector EMEA.

Process Creation, Tailoring & Consolidation

  • Create, maintain, and continuously improve Electrical EMEA SW Quality procedures, templates, checklists, and governance aligned to customer requirements, industry standards and Eaton Standards for software quality.

  • Ensure seamless integration of quality deliverables into New Product Development utilizing APQP and Eaton's PROLaunch process.

Execution & Quality Assurance for Firmware/Software Products

  • Plan and perform SW quality health checks, process audits and project reviews.

  • Review and approve gate readiness and customer release packages based on evidence compliance.

  • Validate that requirements, architecture, implementation.

Regulatory Compliance and Adherence to Standards

  • Ensure adherence to applicable customer, industry standards (e.g.IEC 61508) and Eaton requirements.

Supplier Software Quality Management

  • Partner with Supplier Quality to ensure consistent oversight on embedded SW components.

  • Review deliverables and compliance evidence from external suppliers.

  • Support /Review audits, assessments, PPAP‑like documentation for FW/SW elements, and technical risk mitigation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline.

  • 8+ years in firmware/software quality for electromechanical or safety‑critical electronic systems.

Skills:

  • Solid knowledge on Software lifecycle, requirements management, V&V, traceability

  • IEC 61508 Part 3 (software) or similar standard

  • Configuration management, tool qualification, problem resolution processes

  • Understanding of embedded FW/SW architectures and product safety implications"

  • Strong persuasion and stakeholder influence skills

  • Ability to challenge teams constructively

  • Clear communication and independent decision‑making

  • Cross‑functional collaboration (Engineering, PMO, Supplier Quality, Plants)

  • Structured problem solving and risk‑based thinking
