About the team

Global Business Operations (GBO)’s ambition is to go beyond providing simple services and to run end-to-end business operations at a global scale to our internal customers, the markets and the global functions. Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Experience Area is part of Global Business Operations and covers a set of planning, forecasting & analytical activities that support business decisions and help understanding the overall financial health by combining financial, operational and external data in one place. It involves supporting long-term planning, leading Annual Operating Planning (AOP), supporting landing, handling performance analysis, and generating insights on strategic market and regional level. The Reporting Operations CoE team was established to seamlessly and centrally handle the monthly operations of reporting for FP&A.

About the role

The role holder is the global gate keeper for system and process changes impacting internal Financial reporting, planning and analysis. Acts as a business partner to the FP&A Experience incl. Senior leaders such as the Group FP&A lead, Regional FP&A leads, D&T Corporate Finance asset owners primarily as well as related Global Process Leads. The role will collaborate with all levels across Diageo. It will focus on driving the integration of end-to-end processes with cross-stream process, governance leaders, managers, and project teams. These relationships will encompass people based in a variety of geographies, multiple cultures, languages and time zones. Also, this role will support in design and implementation of New Planning and new BPM Tool.

Purpose of Role

The Manager is tasked to establish a team that is seamlessly and centrally coordinating the monthly operations of various reporting processes. The team will also ensure our reporting, forecasting, and planning processes operate like clockwork. The CoE acts as the body to safeguard and centrally govern the changes to Diageo’s FP&A reporting systems (BPM, Anaplan ZBB, ADAPT, Core, OnR tool), streamline and harmonize related processes, and data structure.

Role Responsibilities

The Manager will ensure the smooth operation of FP&A reporting applications and their governance. They will also support the Head of FP&A Process Excellence and GBO FP&A Experience Leader in designing the FP&A systems landscape and implementing new, fit for purpose tools.

  • Set vision and support the technology build for the FP&A workflows, making certain that the system capabilities are enabling the processes and standardization

  • Ensure Diageo Financial reporting FP&A processes operate effectively

  • Support the transition and data mapping from SAP S/4HANA to BPM and a new planning solution

  • Develop and maintain effective WoW and change management to operate above processes defined under scope both timely and effectively for the end users

  • Establish/maintain clear RASCIs that outline system related support for each asset.

  • Support and govern Diageo projects to support complete, timely delivery with no compromise on reporting timeliness and compliance

  • Define and implement the team structures, capabilities and roles and responsibilities to operate as Global process owners and embed strong governance discipline

  • Manage, lead, mentor and develop a multi-layer team including effective resource prioritisation and management to enable the change and delivery agenda

  • Define, establish and embed global FP&A Processes, ensuring connections to other financial processes, adherence to process and timelines

  • Design and build mechanisms for KPI reporting, exception management and partner concerns

About you

  • Degree in Finance, Information Technology, or a related field

  • At least 8 years of finance leadership experience, preferably in a consumer goods company or a comparable consultancy role. Experience in a shared services environment is essential

  • Strong expertise in reporting systems and tools (e.g., SAP, BW, BPM, BFC, CORE, Anaplan)

  • Digital Skills – like SAS, Python, Power BI, Data science will be a plus

  • Strong project and organisational change experience, attention to detail

  • Track record of delivering change

  • Experience to design and introduce global processes

  • Ability to sum up and conclude approach to issues, framing and setting guiding principles as well as designing controls to the process

  • Ability to influence through others, ability to align multi-layer partners

  • Experience interpreting business requirements, recognizing impact on business processes, and making recommendations

  • Proven track record to build and maintain good business relationships

  • Proven capability to effectively lead teams

  • Established track record in setting up vision and strategy

  • Strong communication skills, tailored to all levels, using visuals if needed
