Honeywell Director - Purchasing - Europe, BA in Bucuresti, Romania
As a Director - Purchasing at Honeywell, in Bucharest or Lugoj, you will be responsible for providing Procurement operational leadership, expertise and best value solutions to the Purchasing organization. Driving transformation in Procure-to-Pay value stream to improve efficiency, quality and speed.
This is a hybrid role, 3 days at the office + 2 days work from home model.

Key responsibilities
Responsible to managed buyers’ and supervisors’ execution and performance including P.O placement, P.O health management, material availability.
Work with cross-functional teams especially Sourcing and Planning to enable executable scheduling changes and deliver forecast to suppliers. Manage and own supplier lead time and ensure it’s at or better than market accepted lead time (MALT).
Coordinate work with suppliers, Risk Management and Business Unit partners on commercial issues, terms and conditions and specifications. Ensure that purchased materials are aligned with operational needs, considering cost, quality and timeliness of delivery ensuring continuity of supply.
Develop and execute ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency, add value, aid business performance and work towards a strategy of continuous improvement.
Maintain the accuracy level of a 100% on supplier set up, and supplier master data | PIR setup; price, terms, shipping | update material master lead-times | update/Maintain optimum MOQ | implement award pricing.
Drive automation and touchless supply chain to improve through put yield, data accuracy, on-time payment. Develop KPI in alignment with SBG expectations and drive supplier performance in partnership with cross-functional teams.
Build a high performing Global Purchasing team and develop talent pipeline.
Key skills and qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Finance, or related field; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
10+ years of progressive experience in Procurement, Purchasing, or Supply Chain, with senior leadership responsibility in a manufacturing environment.
Proven capability to lead and develop global or regional purchasing teams, including performance management and talent pipeline development.
Strong expertise in Procure‑to‑Pay (P2P) operations, purchasing execution, and operational transformation.
Demonstrated experience managing supplier relationships, commercial negotiations, contracts, and continuity of supply.
Solid understanding of cross‑functional collaboration with Sourcing, Planning, Risk Management, and Business Units.
Proven track record in driving automation, touchless supply chain initiatives, and continuous improvement.
Advanced knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and supplier/master data management with high accuracy standards.
Strong analytical, KPI management, and data‑driven decision‑making skills aligned with business objectives.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and change leadership skills in a global, matrixed organization.
