Solstice Advanced Materials Cash Applications Specialist (m/f/d) in Bucuresti, Romania
Role Summary
The Cash Applications Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely application of customer payments, ensuring integrity of accounts receivable, bank clearing accounts, and unapplied cash balances. This role plays a critical part in cash flow visibility, AR aging accuracy, and audit compliance, partnering closely with Collections, Controllership, and Treasury.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Accurately apply customer cash receipts (wires, ACH, checks, lockbox) to the correct customer invoices in SAP.
Perform daily cash application reconciliations, including bank clearing and unapplied cash accounts.
Research, resolve, and clear misapplied or unidentified cash, partnering with Collections and Controllership as needed.
Prepare and distribute daily cash application reports to the Collections team.
Ensure timely completion of JIRA service requests within defined SLAs (48 hours).
Apply and reconcile third-party AR payments, ensuring no residual balances remain in bank clearing accounts on a monthly basis.
Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for assigned legal entities.
Support internal and external audit requests, including SOX documentation and control evidence.
Track and maintain detailed payment reconciliation logs and supporting documentation.
Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve customer account discrepancies and improve cash application efficiency.
Actively identify process gaps and support continuous improvement initiatives in cash application and reconciliation processes.
Qualifications
Experience & Capabilities
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
1–2 years of relevant post-qualification experience in cash applications, accounts receivable, or accounting operations.
Strong understanding of cash application processes, AR subledger accounting, and basic accounting principles.
Hands-on experience with SAP; exposure to HighRadius, JIRA, or similar workflow tools is strongly preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
Ability to work collaboratively in a global, cross-functional team environment.
Organized, deadline-driven, and comfortable operating in a high-volume transaction environment.
Demonstrates a proactive, supportive attitude and openness to change and process improvement.
