Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Technical Lead to lead and execute complex application and infrastructure migrations to Microsoft Azure. This role requires strong hands-on technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and deep experience with legacy (“old”) technologies. Experience with Azure Stack is a strong plus.
The ideal candidate is Azure Architect–certified and comfortable designing, guiding, and delivering end-to-end migration initiatives.
This is a fully remote role . Candidate selected should be based anywhere in Romania.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and design application and infrastructure migrations from legacy platforms to Microsoft Azure
Act as technical lead for migration projects, providing architecture guidance and technical decision-making
Assess existing environments, including legacy systems, and define migration strategies (rehost, refactor, replatform, retire)
Design target-state Azure architectures aligned with best practices, security, and scalability
Coordinate and mentor engineers during migration execution
Ensure minimal downtime, data integrity, and performance during migrations
Collaborate with stakeholders, architects, and delivery teams
Identify risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans
Support post-migration optimization and stabilization
Required Skills & Experience
Strong experience as a Migration Engineer, Cloud Engineer, or Technical Lead
Proven hands-on expertise with Microsoft Azure
Experience migrating legacy / older technologies (e.g., on-prem systems, older frameworks, monolithic applications)
English (Fluent): Mandatory.
Solid understanding of:
Azure networking, security, and identity
Compute, storage, and database services
Hybrid cloud and on-prem integration
Experience designing cloud architectures and leading technical teams
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills and ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Certifications (Required)
- Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert (or equivalent Architect-level Azure certification)
Nice to Have / Plus
Experience with Azure Stack
Experience with large-scale or enterprise migration programs
Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
Experience with regulated or enterprise environments
