What we want
The Senior Event Services Manager, under direction, manages and supervises centralized conference services. Responsible for the design, documentation, implementation, and monitoring a comprehensive event strategy for the department they serve.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Six years of experience in event planning, hospitality management, or other related field.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, Event Planning, Business Administration, or a related field.
Eight (8) or more years of progressively responsible experience in event services or conference operations, preferably in a higher education or large-scale institutional setting.
Experience supervising teams, including full-time staff and student workers.
Demonstrated experience with budgeting, billing, and vendor negotiations.
Familiarity with university policies and procedures related to facility usage and liability.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others
Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, and external partners.
Proficient in event management platforms, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage competing deadlines, and work independently.
Demonstrated problem-solving skills and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of risk management and liability issues related to events.
Responsibilities
Event Planning and Management
Coordinates the full scope of event services, including reservations, scheduling, planning, service delivery, billing, and post-event evaluations.
Manages and maintains the SPH events calendar and ensure timely and accurate updates.
Oversees event setup logistics and manage event timelines and service schedules.
Provides operational support to the Dean’s Office team during events and peak activity periods.
Ensures compliance with university policies, including administration of insurance documents and waivers of liability.
Performs other duties as assigned
Event Strategy and Stakeholder Coordination
Designs, documents, and implements a comprehensive event strategy aligned with school goals.
Develops event-related policies, procedures, and reporting mechanisms for internal and external stakeholders.
Builds and maintains strong relationships with vendors and service providers to ensure quality and efficiency.
Collaborates with internal units and external partners to support recruitment, retention, and school engagement efforts.
Coordinates with the Office of Student Services (OSS) for integrated event planning that supports retention and recruitment initiatives.
Staff Oversight and Training
Supervises and trains event staff, setup crew, student workers, and part-time staff.
Determines staffing needs.
Branded Inventory Management
Oversees procurement of branded items and promotional materials
Manages inventory
Manages on-line SPH purchasing store.
