*POSITION TITLE: *Mold Setter Fiberglass

PAY GRADE: Non-Exempt / Grade 7

*BUSINESS UNIT: *Residential Business Unit DEPT: 16-FiberglassBOX Molding

*REPORTS TO: *Supervisor-Production

*PURPOSE: *An effective Mold Setter holds safety as a value. Demonstrates safe work practices in all they do and has no hesitation notifying anyone of an unsafe situation. Can work as a cohesive team and has the skill to identify problems and recommend improvements to provide quality, on-time products to our customers. A mold setter will remove and install molds and prepare machines for production.

1.0 DUTIES / RESPONSBILITIES:

  1. Follow all company safety guidelines, practices, and procedures. This includes the proper use of personal protective equipment when required.

  2. Performs prescribed work in a safe and efficient manner and complies with applicable codes and practices.

  3. Install molds, including wiring the heat zones to ensure proper working order.

  4. Ensure timely completion of mold changes (SMED-Single-Minute Exchange of Dies)

  5. Place current set-up sheets and heat layouts on the cooling racks.

  6. Clean molds to ensure all vents are free from debris daily.

  7. Start up the press and run 10 consecutive cycles of acceptable product and write deviations, if needed, and turn into supervisor.

  8. Perform preventative maintenance of molds, checking heaters, thermal couplers, and installing new ones if needed.

  9. Follow press schedule and make sure molds are in house and ready to be installed.

  10. Provide input into new mold design.

  11. Sample new molds and make recommendations for changes needed.

  12. Train, mentor, and lead by example to build constructive relationships by taking the initiative to make things better and perform other related duties when needed.

  13. Follow company policies and procedures.

  14. Always maintain cleanliness of equipment and workstation areas.

  15. Targeted reduction in waste of all forms (time, materials, labor).

  16. Communicate effectively with supervisors, group leads and business unit managers.

  17. Creating and continually improving upon a culture of teamwork, accountability, and trust by modeling expectations and providing positive feedback to drive desired behaviors.

  18. Responsible for maintaining regular and reliable attendance and punctuality per company policies and procedures.

  19. Performing other duties, as assigned.

3.0 EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

· Minimum two years' successful experience in a field requiring communication and interaction with employees.

· Prefer five years of experience with injection molding.

· High School Diploma or equivalent.

· Capable of growing in knowledge and demonstrating competency in your job.
