Parkview Health Integration Interface Engineer in Bryan, Ohio
The Integration Interface Engineer is consistently proficient and independently performs:
Installation, maintenance, and support of the HL7 Cloverleaf Interface Engine for real-time interfaces, batch file transfers
Strong knowledge of Epic Bridges (AIPs, administrator tool sets, Data Courier/Content Management, triggers, alerts, interface error workqueues)
Provides detailed scope for projects to the manager and gives input on project prioritization
Provides mentorship and knowledge transfer to Integration Development Analysts
Provides input to the manager for Interface Development Analyst evaluations
Under general supervision and in a team environment follows the project management life cycle methodology to implement small/medium/large system integration projects
Performs field by field testing and full-volume testing of data
Work with clients, business analysts and application developers to define specifications of changes
Builds translation tables and filters to meet specifications
Analyzes and tests HL7 messages
Performs modifications and documentation as assigned
Monitors interface engine ensuring uninterrupted message transfers
Participates in ongoing support of production environments by rotating a team on-call schedule as assigned for 24/7 client support coverage
Performs technical support maintenance on a scheduled quarterly basis.
Embraces change management controls
Troubleshoots and maintains in-house developed integration processes as assigned
Education: Minimum requirement of an Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Technology, or Healthcare related fields
Licensure/Certification: Cloverleaf Level 1 certification required. Cloverleaf Level 2 certification preferred. Epic Certification Classes will be provided if needed, and candidate will be required to pass applicable Certification projects/exams. Ongoing re-certifications will be required.
Experience:
Minimum of 4 years of comparable experience coding in HL7
Knowledge of FHIR and web services preferred
Possesses the ability to lead process requirements
Skilled at problem solving, strong organization skills, strong attention to detail, and demonstrated ability to minimally understand complex issues
Ability to lead a team, communicate, both verbally and written, effectively with technical team, as well as leaders and end users
Ability to design, build, maintain, and troubleshoot technical software workflows
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Working knowledge of the interface engine tools, programming with TCL, JavaScript, or another scripting language, and configuring scripted FTP based interfaces through secure channels
Must exhibit the following characteristics:
Self-motivated, utilizes critical thinking, logical troubleshooting skills, to resolve or escalate problems beyond their knowledge level or available documentation to vendors and team members
Be detail oriented with focus on team/peer communication is a must
