Bard Manufacturing HVAC Lab Technician - 2nd Shift in Bryan, Ohio

Job Descriptions:

Bard Manufacturing Company, Inc. currently has openings for an entry level HVAC Lab Technician on 2nd shift in our Bryan, OH facility.

Scope and Responsibilities:

The Lab Technician operates environmental test chambers, electric heat lab/electric heat test station, and runs various development tests for new product development, production audit testing and evaluation of field problems in accordance with specific test procedures.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Operates test rooms and gathers test data.

  • Responsible for conducting a wide variety of product development and analytical tests, such as:

  • Test motors

  • Conduct air tests on portable wind tunnels.

  • Conduct electric heat tests.

  • Test water source heat pumps.

  • Conduct control tests for approval of various electrical components

  • Knowledgeable in all laboratory safety procedures.

  • Follows all applicable safety guidelines.

  • Fills out electronic test data sheet reports in a complete, accurate manner.

  • Operate two test labs (psychrometric or electric heat) concurrently when required.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:

The successful candidate will possess the following skills/abilities:

Minimum Associates degree in HVAC Technology, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and one year of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Must possess or successfully acquire EPA 608 Certification (minimum Type II) within 6 months of hire date

  • Understanding of HVAC technology

  • Familiar with AHRI and UL Standards

  • Computer aptitude

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed or uninvolved written or oral instructions.

  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Opportunity for advancement is offered through our voluntary Three-Level Lab Technician Program. This program is in place to enhance the technician’s skills and knowledge allowing them the opportunity for growth in their field. Advancing from Basic Technician to a Level One then on to a Level Two Technician. The program includes all study material to complete the web-based testing and internal testing.
