Regulatory Strategy & Advocacy Manager - EMEA

Location: Belgium (Brussel’s office)

Responsibilities

  • Act as the central coordinator for advocacy via Trade Associations: Build and maintain strong relationships with key TA. Convene the relevant internal stakeholders to agree on a single, coherent company position in order to ensure alignment across all the CP representatives (eg., R&D, RA, Safety, Packaging).

  • Policy Monitoring and Analysis: Proactively monitor, analyze, and interpret EMEA and national legislation, regulations, and policy initiatives that could impact Colgate-Palmolive's operations, products, and reputation. Collaborate with Regulatory Affairs, R&D, Packaging, Supply Chain, Legal, Commercial teams, etc in assessing the impacts.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal stakeholders, including Legal, Regulatory Affairs, Communications, and Commercial teams, to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to advocacy. Develop and strengthen relationships and participation with European and National staff and effectively drive key initiatives in support of Colgate-Palmolive. Contribute to the government and legislative understanding within key internal business partners.

  • Trade Association Management: Coordinate CP’s government affairs efforts in trade associations, and contribute to the elevation of CP’s reputation in this arena. Participate in task forces, strategic initiatives, stretch assignments and collaboration opportunities across the organization.

  • Advocacy ROI Reporting: Establish a system for measuring and reporting the "value-added" by advocacy efforts

  • Customized Intelligence Dashboards: Create and maintain a digital "Regulatory Intelligence Hub" that provides real-time, tailored updates to specific business categories rather than generic reports.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will be an experienced leader with a proven track record of success in driving regulatory advocacy strategies within a corporate or trade association environment.

  • Education: Master’s or other advanced degree in business, policy, human or pharmaceutical sciences.

  • Languages: Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in other European languages, particularly French or German, is a strong asset.

  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.

Competencies Required:

  • EU Expertise: A deep understanding of the EU institutions, legislative processes, and policy landscape is essential. Experience working directly with trade Associations and navigating the political environment is highly desirable.

  • Leadership and Strategy: Demonstrated ability to develop and execute complex advocacy affairs strategies that deliver measurable results.

  • Communication and Advocacy: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly and persuasively to a variety of audiences.

Collaboration and Influence: A strong team player with the ability to build consensus and work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
