Job Title: Quality Control Technician

Job Description

The Quality Control Technician maintains the highest standards of product quality and safety by testing and inspecting precast concrete components, documenting results, and partnering closely with production teams to drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct quality assurance tests and quality audits on precast concrete components to ensure compliance with industry and internal standards.

  • Perform detailed inspections using tape measures, squares, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools to verify product dimensions and tolerances.

  • Maintain and document quality systems in accordance with Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMP) and internal quality standards.

  • Analyze test and inspection results, identify discrepancies or nonconformities, and prepare clear, detailed reports on findings.

  • Collaborate with production and operations teams to address quality-related issues and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by recommending process enhancements based on data analysis and inspection trends.

  • Interpret blueprints and construction documents to ensure products meet specified design and quality requirements.

  • Assist with construction material testing related to precast concrete to confirm performance and durability.

  • Use Microsoft Office and other digital tools to record data, track quality metrics, and communicate results.

  • Work effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple inspections and tasks while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience in a quality assurance or quality control setting is preferred.

  • Familiarity with QA/QC methodologies and relevant regulatory or industry requirements is preferred.

  • Ability to accurately use and read a tape measure, squares, and other measuring tools.

  • Proficiency with precision instruments such as calipers and micrometers.

  • Experience with quality assurance, quality control, inspection, and quality inspection processes.

  • Knowledge of construction material testing and inspection practices, particularly for precast concrete components.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and related construction documentation.

  • Strong analytical skills with close attention to detail for accurate data interpretation and reporting.

  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members across departments.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong commitment to maintaining high-quality standards and supporting continuous improvement.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working with precast concrete, including beams, columns, and double T concrete forms, is beneficial.

  • General construction or construction materials experience is a plus.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office for data entry, reporting, and documentation.

  • Comfort working both indoors and outdoors in a production or construction-related environment.

  • Flexibility to work extended hours and occasional weekends as needed.

Work Environment

This is a first-shift role with typical hours of 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with the possibility of working until 5:00 p.m. on some days. You can expect to work approximately 50 hours per week and should be flexible and able to work 8–10 hour days with occasional weekend shifts as needed. The work takes place at a precast concrete facility that produces beams, columns, and double T concrete forms, and involves both indoor and outdoor environments. You will work around active production operations and use standard and precision measuring tools, as well as computers and Microsoft Office, to perform inspections and documentation.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $41600.00/yr.
