You will assist experienced technicians with preventive maintenance, basic repairs, and general upkeep of plant equipment and company vehicles while learning the full range of in‑house machinery and systems at a steady, confidence‑building pace.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with preventive maintenance on plant equipment and company vehicles, including tasks such as oil changes, pressure washing, lubrication, and general mechanical upkeep.

  • Perform routine safety inspections on equipment and tools, identify components or systems that need repair, and promptly communicate issues to the lead technician.

  • Install, replace, or adjust machine parts according to OEM specifications under supervision, ensuring proper alignment and safe operation.

  • Assist with machine teardown and reassembly using hoists, jacks, and hand tools, following established procedures and safety guidelines.

  • Support equipment repairs alongside other technicians, including troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues as directed.

  • Help with moving and repositioning machines and equipment within the facility using appropriate tools and lifting equipment.

  • Operate cranes, drills, saws, and small tools safely and efficiently as part of maintenance and repair activities.

  • Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), documenting work performed and parts used.

  • Keep work areas clean and organized, and perform additional clerical or janitorial tasks related to maintenance operations as needed.

  • Actively learn the operation and maintenance requirements of all in‑house equipment at a measured pace, asking questions and seeking guidance to build skills and confidence.

Essential Skills

  • At least 1 year of experience in industrial or facilities maintenance or a closely related maintenance role.

  • Basic troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electro-mechanical systems under supervision.

  • Hands-on experience or familiarity with maintenance and repair of equipment such as diesel or small engines.

  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, hoists, and jacks safely for equipment teardown, repair, and reassembly.

  • Capability to follow OEM specifications, written procedures, and safety guidelines accurately.

  • Ability to operate basic shop and plant equipment such as cranes, drills, saws, and small tools after proper training.

  • Strong attention to safety, including conducting basic safety inspections and recognizing unsafe conditions.

  • Ability to maintain accurate maintenance and repair documentation in a CMMS or similar system.

  • Willingness and physical ability to work both indoors and outdoors, including in a concrete manufacturing environment.

  • Reliability and flexibility to work 1st shift with occasional extended hours and sporadic weekend work as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics in an industrial or facilities setting.

  • Exposure to electro-mechanical systems and components in a production environment.

  • Experience in facilities maintenance supporting manufacturing or heavy equipment operations.

  • Interest in continuing education and professional development related to maintenance, mechanical, electrical, or industrial technology.

  • Comfort working around concrete production equipment, hoppers, and extrusion processes (or willingness to learn).

  • Strong communication skills to effectively report issues and collaborate with other technicians and plant personnel.

  • Organizational skills to manage multiple maintenance tasks and keep tools and work areas orderly.
